Canfor is launching a new campaign reaching out to the next generation of forest workers.
Public Affairs Director Corinne Stavness says the campaign includes a light-hearted video that shows a number of different opportunities in the industry beyond it’s commonly-known “lumberjack roots”.
“Our facilities are very high-tech,” she says. “There are a variety of careers, skilled trades, production work, accounting management , all types of positions we’re hiring for.”
Canfor will be promoting this drive at the Canada Winter Games, with young people from the region on hand at the events.
“We’re going to be telling them about career opportunities in our company and letting them take part in some of our events with tickets we’ve purchased,” she says.
