Louka earns recognition for dominating performance against TRU

Vasiliki Louka of the UNBC Timberwolves is the Canada West women’s second star of the week.

The fourth-year forward from Athens, Greece, hooped 54 points and 29 rebounds in two games against the Thompson Rivers University (TRU) Wolfpack.

Louka scored 31 points and added 14 boards, two steals, and one block in 37 minutes while leading the Timberwolves to an 88-61 Friday night victory.

On Saturday, with the T-Wolves missing three regulars, she produced 23 points, 15 rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block in 38 minutes in a 91-80 loss.

Louka sits sixth in the conference in scoring, and tops in rebounding, while also registering the second-most minutes per game in Canada West.

It is the second time in her UNBC career, Louka has been named a Canada West Three-Star honour.
