The Prince George Cougars won their 4th straight game 3-1 over the Seattle Thunderbirds. Ty Edmonds allowed one goal for the third consecutive game as his shutout attempt was spoiled in the last second of the game. Jansen Harkins notched a goal and an assist while Jared Bethune, in his first game with the 7-4 Cougars, picked up an assist.

–The PG Cougars visit the Vancouver Giants tonight (Saturday) before hosting the Brandon Wheat Kings Wednesday.

–Jake LeBrun scored at 1:24 of the second overtime period to give the Prince George Spruce Kings a 5-4 victory over the Powell River Kings. Powell River erased a 4-0 deficit to force extra time. The 7-3-0-1 Spruce Kings continue their Island road trip tonight (Saturday) in Nanaimo and also play Sunday in Alberni Valley.

–PG Spruce Kings sniper Justin Rai has accepted an NCAA division 1 hockey scholarship to the University of Maine (Black Bears) for the 2015/2016 season.

–The Prince George Northland Dodge female midget Cougars beat the Fraser Valley Phantom 5-3 in the first of a triple header at Kin 1. With a record of 8-2, PG takes over sole possession of first place in the BC Hockey FMAAA League ahead of the 7-3 Phantom. Same teams meet again today (Saturday) at 2:15pm and Sunday at 8:45am.

–Prince George Inner City fighter Kenny Lally and his coach Bob Pegues are on the road. Lally fights this weekend in North Vancouver (against Josh Slager), then participates in a Training Camp in Victoria before heading to Toronto on October 26th for the National Championships that begin on the 28th. Pegues is head coach for the Western Canadian Team. The A team consists of 10 BC boxers out of 13 Team West athletes.

–Judo athletes from the three clubs in Prince George compete this weekend in Abbotsford at the Judo BC Championships. This event will also be the competition to determine the Judo BC Team for the 2015 Canada Winter Games in Prince George.
