PGCC Political Breakfast Series announced

The Prince George Chamber of Commerce is giving the business community a chance to engage with local elected officials with a new breakfast series.

The chamber will be hosting quarterly events with local representatives giving their perspective and business outlooks for the region.

Chamber CEO Todd Corrigall explains the uniqueness the breakfasts will provide.

“It will certainly provide that [question and answer] opportunity or that opportunity to engage with those elected officials pre and post their presentations which, in a larger group setting, may be more comfortable and more attainable for a number of people who may not want to make that one-on-one connection through their offices.”

All levels of government will be represented during the series of events. Corrigall believes the timing of the announcement should bring more intrigue to the breakfasts.

It’s an interesting time right now,” he explains.

“We’ve had our provincial budget come out, the federal budget has just come out, there’s a municipal election coming up this October, so it’s really a tremendous opportunity for the business owners, whether they’re chamber members or not, to engage with the politicians and have these discussions.”

Two of the four events have dates and local representatives already planned. The first is April 5th, 2018 with Prince George – Mackenzie MLA Mike Morris; the second features Prince George Mayor Lyn Hall on June 14th, 2018.

The other two breakfasts are scheduled for September and November of this year, however, no guests have been announced.
