Miracle Theatre raises $50,000 for United Way

The Miracle Theatre recently wrapped up production of The Fabulous Lipitones which raised money for the United Way of Northern BC.

The production brought in $50,225.95 for the charity. This is the third time Miracle Theatre has helped raise money for local charities, with a total to date of $144,663.

Miracle Theatre Director Ted Price explains why United Way was chosen this time around.

“They help so many organizations in Prince George and they particularly deal with people who are marginalized and the most vulnerable people in our city and the United Way is like the conduit to funding and support for so many of those really important organizations.”

The money will go right back into the community, says United Way CEO, Roberta Squire.

“We have 28 agencies that are receiving funding here locally in Prince George so this $50,000 is going to go into our local community pot where community entities can now put in applications for that funding later on in May and June.”

The money will be redistributed to worthy organizations and societies in the middle of August.

Another fundraising production by Miracle Theatre is expected, however, not until next winter or spring.
