STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS: (Two Sunday games in the Conference semi-finals)

Tampa Bay Lightning  3  Boston Bruins  1

The Lightning, coached by 50-year-old Jon Cooper of Prince George, won the series 4-1 to advance to the Eastern Conference Final for the third time in four years.

Tampa will play either Washington or Pittsburgh.

Vegas Golden Knights  3  San Jose Sharks  0
(Marc-Andre Fleury made 28 saves for his fourth shutout of the playoffs; Golden Knights took the series 4-2 to advance to the Western Conference Final against either Winnipeg or Nashville)

There are a pair of NHL playoff games tonight in the Conference semis; Washington at Pittsburgh (4PM) and Nashville at Winnipeg (6:30PM).

The Capitals and Jets both lead 3-2.

Brett Connolly of Prince George scored his second goal of the playoffs in the Capitals 6-3 Saturday victory over the Penguins.

 

WESTERN HOCKEY LEAGUE:

The next three games in the WHL Final for the Ed Chynoweth Cup will be played in Everett starting Tuesday.

The Silvertips and the Swift Current Broncos are tied 1-1 in the best-of-seven championship series.

Everett is 8-1 on the road in the playoffs after Saturday’s 4-3 overtime loss in Swift Current.

The Silvertips won the opener 2-1 on Friday.

The WHL champion advances to the Memorial Cup May 18th to 27th in Regina.

DOYLE CUP JUNIOR HOCKEY:

The Wenatchee Wild whipped the Spruce Grove Saints 7-2 (Friday) to win the best-of-seven Doyle Cup 4-1.

They advance to the RBC National Junior ‘A’ Championship in Chilliwack.

Wenatchee’s first game in the tournament will be Saturday night against the host Chilliwack Chiefs.

Last week, Chilliwack fired head coach Jason Tatarnic and replaced him with assistant Brian Maloney.

The Toronto Raptors have their season on the line tonight in Cleveland.

The Cavaliers, up 3-0 in the Eastern Conference semi-final, host the Raptors at 5:30.

Toronto is riding its first three-game losing streak of the season.

The Cavs are coming off a 105-103 victory, when LeBron James hit an off-balance game winning shot at the buzzer.

The Philadelphia 76’ers also face elimination, hosting Boston today (3PM PT) with the Celtics in front 3-0.

Teams with a 3-0 lead in an NBA series are a perfect 127-0.

 

MLB:

Toronto Blue Jays  2  Tampa Bay Rays  1

The 19-16 Blue Jays finished 4-4 on an eight-game road trip.

The Jays host the 19-14 Seattle Mariners Tuesday to start a six-game home-stand.

Toronto is third in the AL East, 5 1/2 games behind the NY Yankees and 6 1/2 back of the Boston Red Sox.

Seattle is third in the AL West, 1/2 a game behind Houston and 1 1/2 back of the LA Angels.
