NHL:(First game in the Stanley Cup Final)

Vegas Golden Knights  6  Washington Capitals  4

Brett Connolly of Prince George scored the first goal for the Caps, who briefly held a 4-3 lead early in the third period.

Tomas Nosek scored the winner midway thru the final period and he also added an empty netter.

The Golden Knights outshot the Caps 34-28 and they are 10-1 when scoring first in the playoffs.

Vegas improved to 7-1 at home in the post-season while Washington dropped to 8-3 on the road.

Game Two will be played Wednesday (5PM) in Vegas before the series shifts to Washington Saturday and Monday.

PRINCE GEORGE SPRUCE KINGS:

The Prince George Spruce Kings have added 19-year-old forward Michael Conlin to their team from the North Jersey Avalanche U18 Program.

The five-foot-nine, 170 pound Conlin tallied 14 points (eight goals) in 24 games for North Jersey in 2017/2018.

 

NBA: (Seventh and deciding game in the Western Conference Final)

Golden State Warriors  101  Houston Rockets  92

The Warriors took control by outscoring the Rockets 33-15 in the third quarter to erase a 54-43 halftime deficit.

The Rockets at one point missed 27 consecutive three-point attempts, which is the most in league history.

Golden State wins the West for the 4th straight year and will host the Cleveland Cavaliers Thursday in game one of the NBA Finals.
