City Council Preview: July 16th, 2018

A 311 service could be on its way to Prince George.

At the July 16th, 2018, edition of PG City Council, Administration recommends Council authorize an application to the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission for approval in implementing a 311 service for PG. These services provide residents easy access to non-emergency City services.

Applying under the BC Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development – Infrastructure Planning Grant Program for additional flood protection planning is also recommended by Administration. It could fund up to $10,000 toward the project. There is a report from the Select Committee on a Healthy City Framework. A video will be presented as part of a Parks Division 2018 update.

Kidd Real Estate Holdings Ltd. looks to make headway on four rezoning applications in the formal public hearing. Also, the 4509 Hwy 16 Road Closure Bylaw will be up for discussion in the public hearing, with intent to sell the area to School District 57. This area is just in front of Vanway Elementary.

Bylaws seeking final reading and adoption include the Mobile Equipment Financing Bylaw, which looks at various mobile equipment financing agreement including a Ladder Truck, and the Kelly Road North Culvert Replacement Loan Authorization, which is to replace an existing culvert on the road that has failed and resulted in erosion of the roadway.

Adjustments made to the remuneration of the mayor and councillors will also seek final reading and adoption.
