Former PG Cougar dealt to reigning WHL champions

Ethan O’Rourke is on the move once again.

The 19-year-old former PG and Cariboo Cougar has been traded from the Everett Silvertips to the Swift Current Broncos.

The Broncos defeated the ‘Tips in the 2017-18 WHL Championship series 4-2 en route to the 100th Memorial Cup.

O’Rourke played 37 games with the Cougars last season, before being dealt south of the border on January 1st, recording a combined total of 18 points (6G, 12A) in 66 games.

He was drafted by Prince George in the third round of the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft, 53rd overall.

The trade involves Everett receiving defenceman Sahvan Khaira, while sending O’Rourke and a 2020 third-round pick to Swift Current.
