Paige Payne has become a record scoring machine!
The UNBC Timberwolves midfielder is the Canada West women’s second star of the week.
Payne scored all three goals for UNBC in a pair of weekend losses against the MacEwan Griffins; 3-2 Friday and 2-1 Saturday.
Two of the goals were highlight reel efforts that saw her run the entire length of the pitch before scoring.
She has become the Timberwolves all-time single-season record holder for goals in a season with eight, which is tops in Canada West.
The third-year player from Kitimat also sits top five in the conference in points (10) and shots (35).
Payne and the 1-6-3 Lady Timberwolves play a couple of road games this weekend in Alberta: Saturday (11:00 a.m. PT) in Calgary against the 9-1 Dinos and Sunday (11:00 a.m.) in Lethbridge against the 1-8-1 Pronghorns.
Three goals in two games has earned The Pride of Kitimat, BC, @PaigePayne74 the @CanadaWest 2nd Star of the Week! #pPP7 now leads the entire conference in goal scoring, and is the first @UNBCWSoccer player to ever win a CW award! Congrats, Paige!! #gotwolves #runasone pic.twitter.com/q9cuLx09ev
