WATCH: PG voters welcome the youth movement!

WATCH:

Prince George City Council is now 25% millennial after Saturday night’s civic election.

Cori Ramsay (31) & Kyle Sampson (25) are the two new councillors joining all six incumbents & re-elected Mayor Lyn Hall.

“I am so excited! It’s really nice to see hard work pay off and I couldn’t be more proud to represent the people. The first step is to learn what to do next; I’m excited to dive in head first because I have much to learn.”

– Cori Ramsay, PG City Councillor

“What a great way to have a mixture on this council with senior members who have been there for multiple terms, and now, we have some new blood like Cori and myself. It’s a really good mix to keep PG moving forward because I don’t know all the answers.”

– Kyle Sampson, PG City Councillor

Voter turnout decreased to 24% compared to 37% in 2014.

The new council’s inaugural public meeting is scheduled for November 5th.
