PG Firefighters respond to duplex fire in the bowl

Prince George Fire Rescue responded a duplex fire on the 3800 block of Pinewood Avenue today.

Four halls took the call at about 1:10pm and initial reports are that nobody was home at the time.

“Our initial focus was protecting the adjacent property,” said Fire Chief John Iverson.

“There was some melted siding and some heat damage, and our concern in these cases is to make sure the adjacent structures are protected.”

There is no word yet on a cause, however, witnesses believe it may have started in the basement. Damage is estimated at $200,000.
