Cougars blow 3-1 lead; road losing skid hits five games

The Prince George Cougars could not keep the Thunderbirds big line in check as Seattle rallied for a 6-5 Tuesday victory before 4,145 fans in Kent, Washington.

Zack Andrusiak (2G, 3A), Nolan Volcan (3G, 1A), and Matthew Wedman (2A) combined for a whopping 11 points as the Thunderbirds erased a 3-1 deficit in the first period before scoring the next four goals, three of them in the second period.

The Cougars have dropped five straight on the road and seven of their last eight overall.

The Cats leading scorer, Vladislav Mikhalchuk, tallied twice and added an assist to give him 26 points (11G, 15A) in 31 games.

Prince George was 1/3 and Seattle 2/4 on the power-play.

The 11-17-1-2 Cougars are last in the BC Division, two points behind the (12-13-2-1) Kamloops Blazers.

Prince George is also four back of the (14-12-1) Victoria Royals and seven behind the (15-15-2) Kelowna Rockets.
