The Vancouver Giants crushed the Prince George Cougars 9-1. Jackson Houck led the way with three goals and two assists. Vancouver scored three unanswered goals in the first and added two more in the second. Ty Edmonds stopped just 21 of 26 shots before he was replaced by rookie Tavin Grant in the third. The Giants and Cougars have split their four meetings with each winning twice on home ice. The 7-5 Cougars host 8-2-1 Brandon Wednesday before playing three games in Alberta: Friday in Red Deer, Saturday in Edmonton and Sunday, Oct 26th in Calgary. Prince George is third in the B.C. Division, a point behind Kamloops, a point ahead of Victoria and two in front of Vancouver.

–A 54 save effort from Jesse Jenks was not enough for the Prince George Spruce Kings who lost 5-1 to the Nanaimo Clippers. Nanaimo outshot P.G. 59-20. The 7-4-0-1 Spruce Kings conclude an Island road trip today in Alberni Valley. The next home games for the PG Spruce Kings will be Thursday against Penticton, Saturday against Trail and Sunday the 26th against Powell River.

–The Major Midget Cariboo Cougars outscored the winless Thompson Blazers 5-2 to improve their record to 7-1-1. The same teams meet again today in Chase.

–The Prince George Northland Dodge female midget Cougars won their second straight game over the Fraser Valley Phantom 6-1. P.G., which won the Friday game 5-3, is in first place with a 9-2 record. The same teams face off again today at 8:45am at Kin 1.

–Seven members of the North Capital Judo Club combined to win four gold medals and three silver at the BC Championships in Abbotsford.
