Anticipation builds for 2020 World Women’s Curling Championship in PG, ticket details released

In 12 months time, Prince George will be welcoming the world once again as it will host the World Women’s Curling Championship at CN Centre.

The tournament is starting to gain a little bit of a buzz in the northern capital as this year’s tournament is being held in Denmark.

CN Centre Manager, Glen Mikkelsen spoke to My PG Now.

“The attention placed on the tournament in Denmark and really, we’re just building upon that because in 12 months the CN Centre is going to be a hot spot for sporting and entertainment activities and I am just so excited the tournament is coming here.”

The northern capital has big shoes to fill after North Bay, Ontario knocked it out of the park in 2018.

“Jennifer Jones when she was here a couple of weeks ago, she said they knocked it out of the park just in terms of the whole community embracing it from hotels to restaurants, to the cab drivers, she said it was so phenomenal the way the people of North Bay got behind the event.”

The local curling community is starting to get behind the tournament as well according to Mikkelsen.

“For sure, the Prince George Golf and Curling Club has been super supportive and we know the volunteers and ticket buyers from the organization and they have been very receptive in putting this event on.”

Mikkelsen announced the early bird ticket pricing that will be in place until Sunday.

The price is $339, which is $50 off the regular fee and packages can be purchased at the CN Centre Box Office or TicketsNorth.ca.

The tournament is slated for March 14-22 at CN Centre.
