WATCH: Police standoff in the VLA

WATCH: Heavy police presence on Tamarack related to a shooting on Quince Street last week

There was a police standoff in the VLA this morning.

Emergency response teams were on scene in the 2100 block of Tamarack Street. Nearby houses were evacuated as police surrounded a home they suspect was related to a shooting last week.

Corporal Craig Douglass said “This is to do with this ongoing shooting incident, which is a violent act so we’re taking precautions as a result of that.”

One man was shot and taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries following a shooting on Quince Street last Friday.
