PG to receive fresh blanket of snow

Prince George drivers should brace for some challenging conditions as a snowfall warning continues for the area.

Environment Canada Meteorologist, Bobby Sekohn spoke with MyPGNow.com.

“So far in the Prince George area, we estimate there have been five centimetres of snow overnight but there is more on the way, we can expect another 10 centimetres today and perhaps another five this evening.”

“We actually have a Pacific system moving through and coming into the interior and with the cooler temperatures there it is creating snow on the interior but also rain on the coast so it is a bit of a contrast there.”

Sekohn added if you do plan on braving the winter weather, to be fully prepared.

“Visibility will be reduced in the heavy snow and driving conditions can be quite challenging this time of year, so if you must travel, make sure your car is well equipped with your snow tires and an emergency kit with you.”

Daytime highs of zero and plus three are anticipated for tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday.
