Dustin Hopkins kicked the game-winning field goal for Washington who improves to 1-1 on the season while the Giants drop to 0-2.
Giants QB Daniel Jones was the team’s leading rusher with 95 yards on nine carries.

Canada West Soccer
The UNBC Timberwolves have their Canada West soccer home openers this weekend against the Trinity Western Spartans. Game times on Friday and Saturday are 5:00 PM for the women followed by the men at 7:15 at Masich Place.
The UNBC men have a loss and a tie after two games while the UNBC women have a pair of losses.
Trinity Western is 2-0 in the women’s standings and has two ties after two games in the men’s division.

PG Cougars
The Prince George Cougars begin a pre-season double header against the Blazers in Kamloops tonight.
Both teams will suit up once again on Saturday at CN Centre.
Those planning to attend at CN Centre will have to provide proof of vaccination status.
The regular season for the Cougars will begin on October 2nd when they host the Blazers.

PG Spruce Kings
It’s the first day of training camp for the Prince George Spruce Kings at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena (RMCA).
There will be two scrimmages during camp, one Saturday night at 6:00 and the other Sunday at noon.
PG opens the pre-season Friday, September 24th against the Centennials in Merritt.
