The UNBC soccer teams will begin their Canada West season with a home game on Friday, August 25th at Masich Place Stadium.

Golf: (RBC Canadian Open)
Nick Taylor of Abbotsford became the first Canadian in 69 years to win the RBC Canadian Open.
The 35-year-old Taylor earned the victory in dramatic style, making a 72-foot eagle putt on the fourth playoff hole to beat Tommy Fleetwood at Oakdale in Toronto.

The last player from Canada to win the Canadian Open was Pat Fletcher in 1954 in Vancouver.
“I’m speechless,” Taylor said with tears in his eyes shortly after his win. “This is for all the guys that are here. This is for my family at home. This is the most incredible feeling.”

Tennis:
Novak Djokovic won the French Open for his men’s-record 23rd Grand Slam title, which is one more than Rafael Nadal and three in front of Roger Federer.
The 36-year-old Djokovic whipped Casper Ruud in the final in straight sets (7-6, 6-3, 7-5).
He now has 3 French Open titles, 3 US Open championships, 7 Wimbledon titles and 10 Australian Open championships.
Djokovic is the only man with at least three victories in each of the Majors.
CFL: (Final game in Week 1)
Saskatchewan 17 Edmonton 13
The 1-0 B.C. Lions, coming off that 25-15 victory over Calgary, will have their home opener Saturday (4 PM) against Edmonton.
Week 2 of the CFL season starts Thursday with (0-1) Calgary at (0-1) Ottawa.
