Prince George’s big heart will come through: Salvation Army

The Prince George Salvation Army continues to see a lag through week two of its Kettle Campaign.

More than $52,000 has been tallied thus far, and Captain Neil Wilkinson says they’re not concerned with the results just yet.

He believes donor fatigue may be the reason.

“We know that people in Prince George have been giving throughout the entire summer and that was an amazing response, but we’re also very confident that this community, with such a big heart, is going to make sure Christmas charities are being taken care of as well.”

Captain Wilkinson is hopeful the ultimate goal of $250,000 can be reached, but not without a little more help.

“This campaign has 12 locations, 12 hours a day, six days a week over the six weeks, and our volunteer database is over the 575 names on the list we had from last year, but not everybody whose name is on the list is able to spend time on the kettles this year.”

The Kettle Campaign runs until December 23rd.
