Homestead Days arrives for the long weekend

Huble Homestead, north of Prince George, is holding Homestead Days today (Sunday) and tomorrow.

The event will have live music, old-fashioned relays, crafts, and games.

“Homestead Days is Huble Homestead’s longest-running event, obviously it didn’t happen last year. But now that we are returning to more normal types of events, we’re really excited that Homestead Days is the first one we are able to hold,” said Krystal Leason, Executive Director of Huble Homestead.

A barbeque will be held, as well as a Box Lunch Special, where people can bid in an auction for a prepared picnic lunch.

“We also have the black powder shooters out on Monday. Huble Homestead is dog friendly, I would recommend maybe leaving the pups at home on Monday, just because they’re not fans of black powder shooting,” said Leason.

Some of the other upcoming events Huble Homestead is holding are:

  • Hands-On History- August 21, where staff demonstrate making soap, paper and ink.
  • Watson Weekend- August 27-29, where families can take part in puzzles and brain teasers.
  • Potato Festival- September 5-6, where people can buy potatoes and other vegetables from the Huble garden, and participate in games and contests.
