According to the BC River Forecast Centre, an extended period of high pressure is bringing seasonally hot temperatures across B.C., with daily high's in the northern interior expected to remain in the low-to-mid 20's this week.

The Prince George area enter the spring season with higher than normal snowpack levels.

According to the B.C. River Forecast Centre, the atmospheric river impacting the coast is expected to bring spillover precipitation into the region, accompanied by rising temperatures and increasing freezing levels. 

"What that means we are trending towards a higher snowpack than normal, which means that this bulletin is the first heads up for the Prince George area that the freshet in the spring could be a risk for flooding." 

The BC River Forecast Centre's Drought Information Portal pegs the Prince George area at a modest level. "Probably the best news has been the precipitation over the past 30 days, and it has been just kind of a relatively wetter July compared to historical years for the Interior, really as a whole," said BC River Forecast Centre Hydrologist Jonathan Boyd.
