The Prince George Spruce Kings leave Wednesday morning for Brooks, site of the national junior A hockey championship May 11-19.

The tournament semi-finals are Saturday, May 18th at 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. PT and the final goes Sunday, May 19th at 2:00 p.m. PT.

The BCHL champion Spruce Kings are 20-3 in the post-season after winning the Doyle Cup Pacific Region championship four games to two over the Brooks Bandits.

Patrick Cozzi of the P.G. Spruce Kings is the BCHL Player of the Week.

The just-turned 21-year-old Cozzi scored four goals and added an assist in three games, all wins on home ice against Brooks.

(Tuukka Rask made 39 saves for his 6th career playoff shutout. The Bruins won the series 4-2 to advance to the Eastern Conference final against the Carolina Hurricanes)

The St. Louis Blues host the Dallas Stars tonight (5:00 PT) in the 7th and deciding game of their Western Conference semi-final.

WHL:
(Ed Chynoweth Cup)

The WHL final has shifted to Langley for game three tonight as well as games four and five Wednesday and Friday.

The Prince Albert Raiders and the Vancouver Giants are tied 1-1.

The Giants won the opener 5-4 Friday and the Raiders bounced back with a 4-0 victory Saturday.

P.A. is 11-0 when scoring first in the 2019 playoffs and 55-0 when including the regular season.

The winner of the series will advance to the Memorial Cup May 16 to 26 in Halifax.

UNBC TIMBERWOLVES:

Prince George city all-star Isabel Fuller has committed to play for the UNBC Timberwolves in the 2019-20 Canada West women’s basketball season.

A five-foot-ten guard, Fuller has played for the College Heights senior girls team since Grade 9.

It was the 6th loss in the last seven games for the (15-20) Blue Jays.

The same teams play again tonight (4:00 PT) in Toronto.

The Blue Jays are 4th in the A.L. East, 7.5 games behind the division leading Tampa Bay Rays.

The (21-12) Twins lead the Central Division.
