63 Long Track Winter Games speed skaters will compete Wednesday to Friday in Fort St John. The remainder of their competition was moved up north because of the warm weather conditions in Prince George.
–The BC wheelchair basketball team, that includes Avril Harris and Joel Ewart of Prince George, split its first two games. A 61-29 BC victory over Manitoba was followed by a 60-54 loss to PEI.
–The BC ringette team, that includes Sydney Irving of PG, is 1-1 after a 7-4 win over PEI. Irving notched three assists.
–The BC men’s curling team beat New Brunswick 7-6 to improve its record to 3-0.
–The BC women’s hockey team finished 1-2 in its round robin pool after a 5-1 victory over PEI. BC will play in the quarter-finals Wednesday at 4pm at Kin 2.
–Following Monday’s competition, BC athletes have captured 13 medals at the Games: five gold, three silver and five bronze.
