In a nutshell:

NHL:

–Marc-Andre Fleury blocked 26 shots to help the Vegas Golden Knights to a 2-1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks.  The Golden Knights lead the first-round series 3-0 and go for a sweep today (3:30 PT).  Vegas is 6-0 in the postseason.

–In other Saturday NHL playoff games: Tampa edged Columbus 3-2, Arizona doubled Colorado 4-2 and Boston knocked off Carolina 3-1. The Lightning, Avalanche and Bruins all lead their Conference quarterfinals 2-1.

–The Vancouver Canucks play the St. Louis Blues tonight (Sunday) at 7:30 (PT) in Edmonton. The Canucks have won five straight and lead the Blues 2-0. Captain Bo Horvat leads the NHL with six post-season goals. He scored twice, one in overtime on a breakaway, to lead the Canucks to that 4-3 Friday night win over the Blues.

–The Montreal Canadiens are up against the Philadelphia Flyers tonight at 5:00. The Habs and Flyers are even at a game each.

–The Calgary Flames have an early game today (11 AM PT) against the Dallas Stars. The Flames lead the series 2-1.


NBA:

–The Portland Trail Blazers beat the Memphis Grizzlies 126-122 to clinch the NBA’s final playoff spot. The Trail Blazers finished 8th in the Western Conference and will play the LA Lakers in a best-of-7 series starting Tuesday.

–The Toronto Raptors open the playoffs on Monday (1:00 PM PT) against the Brooklyn Nets. The Raptors went 7-1 in the restart and 53-19 overall to end up second in the Eastern Conference.

MLB:

–The (7-9) Toronto Blue Jays had their Saturday game against Tampa Bay suspended in the fourth inning because of rain. The Rays were leading 1-0 with the Jays coming to bat in the bottom of the 4th inning in Buffalo. The two teams will resume at 10 AM PT today and finish their nine-inning game. They will then play a seven-inning game, shortened from the regularly scheduled nine innings.
