–The curtain opens on the Stanley Cup Final tonight (Saturday). The Tampa Bay Lightning, coached by Jon Cooper of Prince George, battle the Dallas Stars with the puck to drop just after 4:30 (PT).
BCHL:
–The Prince George Spruce Kings will play their first four BCHL pre-season games against the Merritt Centennials starting October 10th in Merritt. The Spruce Kings have eight exhibition games in total, with five of them against the Centennials. The only two home pre-season games for the Spruce Kings will be on October 25th and November 7th at the RMCA against Merritt.
NBA:
–The LA Lakers have a 1-0 lead in the NBA Western Conference finals following a 126-114 victory over the Denver Nuggets. Anthony Davis hooped 37 points and 10 rebounds while LeBron James added 15 points and 12 assists in the win. Game two will tip off Sunday night (just after 4:30 PT).
–The Miami Heat and Boston Celtics play the third game of the NBA Eastern Conference finals this evening starting just after 5:30. Miami enjoys a 2-0 series lead.
US Open Golf:
–At 4-under-136, Patrick Reed carries a one-shot lead over Bryson DeChambeau into the third round of the 120th U.S. Open at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, New York. The only two Canadians to make the cut, Adam Hadwin and Taylor Pendrith are 9 shots off the pace at 5-over-145. Tiger Woods missed the cut by 4 strokes.
MLB:
–The Toronto Blue Jays have lost five straight after they dropped a doubleheader against the Philadelphia Phillies: 7-0 and 8-7. Both teams are 26-and-25 and play again today (3:05 PT).
NFL:
–There are 14 Sunday games in the NFL including the night matchup of New England at Seattle. Both the Patriots and Seahawks are 1-0.
