The Cougars play their final preseason game tonight (Saturday) in Victoria against the Royals.
The regular season for the Cougars will begin on October 2nd when they host the Kamloops Blazers.
The Cougars are carrying 26 players, three goalies, nine defencemen, and 14 forwards. Seven of the players are rookies and four are 20-year-olds (one over the limit); goalie Taylor Gauthier, defenceman Majid Kaddoura plus forwards Jonny Hooker, and Connor Bowie.
There are 3 PG boys on the team: defenceman Aiden Reeves and forwards Caden Brown and Fischer O’Brien.

The Spruce Kings have three pre-season games remaining: They visit West Kelowna on Tuesday and Penticton Wednesday before concluding exhibition play on Sunday, October 3rd when they host Merritt at 3 pm.

The Timberwolves visit the Thunderbirds again tonight. The UNBC soccer teams will host UBC Okanagan at Masich Place on October 1st and 2nd (noon for the men and 6 p.m. for the women)
The UNBC men have three losses and two ties after five games while the UNBC women have five losses.

The (85-69) Jays are tied with the Seattle Mariners, two games behind the New York Yankees for the second A.L. wild-card playoff spot and three games back of the Boston Red Sox.
Toronto has 8 games left, 2 on the road (both at Minnesota), and 6 at home (three against the Yankees and three against the Baltimore Orioles).
The Jays host the Yankees Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week before closing at home against lowly Baltimore Oct 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
