The Westwood Pub Devils outscored the BX Pub Bandits 16-7 in the battle of the unbeaten in Prince George Senior Lacrosse. The Devils are 4-0 while the second place Bandits slip to 3-1. Danton Nicholson, Blake McIntosh and Sobnik Manhas tallied twice for Westwood Pub.
League play resumes tonight (Thursday) at 8 at the PG Coliseum as the 1-2 Quesnel Crossfire take on the 0-3 Cowboy Ranch Stylers.
–The Prince George Cougars selected left winger Jackson Leppard (8th overall), defenceman Jonas Harkins (28th overall) and right winger Tyler Ho (65th overall) with their first three picks in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft. Leppard, Harkins and Ho all played this season with the
Western Canadian Bantam AAA Champion North Shore Winter Club.
–Defenceman Brevin Gervais of Prince George was chosen by the Calgary Hitmen in the 4th round, 86th overall. Gervais was the only PG Minor Hockey player selected in the Bantam Draft.
–After racking up 118 points, including 63 goals, in just
58 games Oliver Bjorkstrand of the Portland Winterhawks is the WHL Player of the Year.
–The Kelowna Rockets visit the Brandon Wheat Kings Friday and Saturday in the first two games of the best of 7 WHL final. Games three and four will be played Monday and Wednesday in Kelowna.
