WHL:

The Prince George Cougars put a 4-game win streak on the line against the B.C. Division-leading Kamloops Blazers.

The two teams have a home-and-home and will meet tonight at CN Centre and Saturday at the Sandman Centre (Kamloops).

In the last four games, the Cougars leading scorer, Koehn Ziemmer has nine points, including seven goals.

The 17-year-old Ziemmer has scored in each of his last seven home games.

The (17-17-1-1) Cougars are 3rd in the B.C. Division and 6th in the Western Conference.

The (22-11-1) Blazers have the second-best record in the Conference, behind the (26-7-2-2) Everett Silvertips.

BC Elite Hockey League: (AAA)

The U-18 Cariboo Cougars and the female Northern Capitals play league games this weekend in Fort St James.

The (11-10-1-2) Cougars host the (12-8-3-1) Fraser Valley Thunderbirds Saturday night at 6:30 outdoors at the Ernie Sam Memorial Arena.

The two teams also face off Sunday afternoon at 12:30 indoors at the Fort Forum.

The Capitals entertain the Fraser Valley Rush Saturday afternoon at 1:00 in Vanderhoof and Sunday morning at 10 outdoors in Fort St James.

NHL: (9 Thursday games)

The (18-18-3) Vancouver Canucks host the (27-8-5) Florida Panthers tonight at 7:00.

The UNBC Timberwolves visit the UBC Okanagan Heat in Kelowna this weekend in Canada West women’s and men’s basketball.

Games times are tonight at 5:00 and 7:00 and Saturday at 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. starting with the women followed by the men.

The UNBC women are 4-5 on the season while UBC Okanagan women are 5-6.

The UNBC men are 2-7 while the UBC Okanagan men are 1-7.
