The Kelowna Rockets are WHL champions for the 4th time (2003, 2005, 2009, 2015). The Rockets scored back to back shorthanded goals 19 seconds apart early in the third period to snap a 0-0 tie and Kelowna went on to skunk the Brandon Wheat Kings 3-0.

The Rockets swept the league final 4-0 to claim the Ed Chynoweth Cup and qualify for the Memorial Cup May 22nd to 31st in Quebec City. This will be the fifth appearance for Kelowna at the Memorial Cup as the Club hosted and won the event in 2004.

–The Prince George Cougars have signed Equipment Manager Ramandeep (Chico) Dhanjal to a contract extension. Dhanjal is entering his eighth season with the Cougars. He has worked over 500 career WHL regular season games.

–Jamie Bellamy made 29 saves to post the first shutout in Prince George Senior Lacrosse in 19 years. Bellamy and the Westwood Pub Devils smacked the Cowboy Ranch Stylers 20-0. The Devils are 5-0 while the Stylers drop to 0-6. Ron Edgar was the last goalie to record a goose egg in 1996.

–PG Senior Lacrosse tonight (Thursday) will be played in Quesnel as the 2-2 Crossfire tangle with the 1-3 Northland/Nissan Assault.

–Prince George judo athletes and volleyball players are at Nationals on the long weekend with the judo competition in Quebec and the volleyball club tournament in Calgary.
