The Quesnel Employment Services Crossfire scored four goals in the third period to edge the visiting Northland/Nissan Assault in Prince George Senior Lacrosse. Quesnel is in third place with a 3-2 record while the Assault slip to 1-4.

PG Senior Lacrosse resumes regular-season play Wednesday night at 8 at Kin 1 as the 4-1 BX Pub Bandits face the Assault.

–The Prince George Cougars will have a new logo for the first time since 2009. Team President Greg Pocock says they want a new logo and brand for the New Ice Age, something that reflects the Cats new direction and energy. Pocock says the logo will be unveiled within 30 days.

–The Penticton Vees beat the Soo Thunderbirds 5-2 to finish with a 3-1 round robin record at the Royal Bank Cup in Portage-la-Prairie. The Vees advance to the semi-finals on Saturday against Carleton Place. The other semi has Portage against Melfort. Winners meet in Sunday’s gold medal game.

–The Canadian Open Judo Championships take to the mat today through Sunday in Quebec. The three Prince George based judo clubs have a combined 15 athletes entered.

–Calgary is the site for the 2015 Volleyball Canada Club Championships for Boys and Girls ranging in ages from 14U to 18U. Several Prince George teams are competing.

Tournament 1 (14U Boys and Girls, 15U Girls and 16U Girls) is underway with competition to wrap up Saturday.

Tournament 2 (15U Boys, 16U Boys plus 17U and 18U Boys and Girls) begins Sunday and continues until Tuesday.
