Treasure Cove Casino looking to expand liquor license and service times

Tomorrow’s (Monday) Prince George City Council meeting covers quite a few liquor license and patio topics, and one of the larger ones is the expansion that Treasure Cove Casino is hoping to see.

The casino is hoping to extend liquor service times from 11 AM until 2 AM, Monday through Sunday, and it’s also looking to increase the occupancy load from 2016 to 3004 by including the bingo area and upper mezzanine.

Administration for the City recommends approving the application and forwarding it to the Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch.

Richard Duval, the Director for the Van Bien Community Association, also attached a letter in support of the application, noting that he doesn’t believe there will be a negative impact to the community.

City Council will also be receiving a presentation from the BC Summer Games Society, an application will be sent to potentially bring in over $600,000 to help PG’s homeless population, and a Rogers Wireless Tower is set to be built in the southeast part of the City to create a stronger signal.
