T-Wolves WSOC ink speedy attacker from Kamloops

For the second time this week, the women’s soccer team at UNBC looked outside their home base to add talent.

Today (Friday), the T-Wolves announced the commitment of Kate Rattee to the roster for the 2022 Canada West season.

“I am super happy that I have achieved my goal of playing university soccer. It’s what I have been working towards. I am thankful for the opportunity to play here, because the team seems great. I’d say I have wanted to play university soccer since I started playing rep as an 11-year-old, so quite a long time,” said Rattee.

The Kamloops product was scouted by UNBC coach Neil Sedgwick, along with her Thompson Okanagan Football Club teammate Kambria Mellum, who was impressed by her skill and immense potential for growth.

“I am truly thrilled to welcome Kate Rattee to our program. Kate is exciting prospect and I look forward to working with her in training. There is a defining quality in her play that will allow her to learn and grow. With strong attackers around her to learn from, and with her desire for grow, we feel this is a great environment for her. She is a really strong and promising addition to the program,” added Sedgwick.

Set to graduate in June, the honour roll student will enroll in UNBC’s Bachelor of Arts program this fall. Rattee will join her new teammates for training camp in August.
