The A.L. posted its ninth straight All-Star victory and 21st in the past 25 Midsummer Classics.

The Toronto Blue Jays play their next game Friday night against the (48-45) Red Sox in Boston.

The Jays are 50-43 after 93 of 162 games and 4-1 since firing manager Charlie Montoyo and replacing him with bench coach John Schneider.

Toronto is 3rd in the AL East and sitting in the 3rd and final wild-card spot, a game behind the (51-42) Seattle Mariners, who have won 14 in a row.

BC Summer Games:

Athletes from around the province are arriving in Prince George today (Wednesday) and tomorrow for the 2022 BC Summer Games.

About 2,800 athletes will compete in 18 sports from Thursday to Sunday.

The opening ceremony will take place Thursday night from 7 to 8:30 at CN Centre with the Pre-Show at 6:00.

Due to limited space, the opening ceremony is closed to the general public.

Hockey:

Forward Connor Bowie, who spent the last four seasons with the Prince George Cougars, has committed to play for Ryerson University (located in Toronto) in the U-Sports Men’s Hockey League.

The 21-year-old Fort St. John product played 222 games with the Cougars and posted a total of 69 points, including 40 goals.

CFL:

The B.C. Lions return to action when they host the (1-4) Hamilton Tiger-Cats Thursday night at 7:00.

Earlier on Thursday (4:00), Montreal is at winless Ottawa.

After six weeks of the CFL season, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are in the top spot with a perfect 6-0 record.

Calgary is next at 4-1 followed by Saskatchewan at 4-2 and B.C. at 3-1.

Western teams are a combined 19-8 while Eastern teams are a combined 4-15.
