Riley Heidt notched a hat trick for the Cougars, who scored five goals in the first period before a season-high crowd of 4,821 in Prince George.

Giants captain Zack Ostapchuk notched a goal and four assists before 4,463 fans at CN Centre.

The (10-5-1-1) Prince George Spruce Kings host the (7-8-1-1) Alberni Valley Bulldogs Wednesday night at 7:00 before hitting the road again to play at Trail Friday and Penticton Saturday.

The Spruce Kings are coming off a split against the Merritt Centennials, a 3-2 Thursday loss was followed by a 7-5 Friday victory.

Prince George is 4th in the 9-team Interior Division.
