FIFA World Cup: Updated, 10:23 a.m.
Argentina 3 (4) France 3 (2) (Penalties)
You couldn’t possibly script a more exciting ending to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Argentina led late, but Kylian Mbappe scored two goals in the 80th and 81st minute to tie it late, and force 30 minutes of extra time.
Lionel Messi put Argentina again in the extra time, but Mbappe finished off his hat-trick to tie it again.
The final was determined in penalty kicks, as Argentina went 4-4 on their attempts, while France only scored twice on their four tries.
