The Prince George Timberwolves finished in 3rd place at the Boys Softball BC Provincial U18 Championship in Clearwater. The Timberwolves finished with an overall 5-3 record.

–The Prince George Grizzlies lost all three of their games in the six team C-Division at the Ball Hockey Provincials in Kamloops. PG fell 4-1 to the Lower Mainland Coyotes, 7-4 to the Fraser Valley Outlaws and 4-2 to Lower Mainland Code Blue.

–Three Prince George athletes compete this week at the Pan Am Games in Toronto. Inner City boxer Kenny Lally received a first round bye in his 56 kilos weight class. The 26-year-old Lally is scheduled to have his first bout tonight (Monday) against a fighter from Ecuador (Segundo Padilla) in the quarter-finals. If he wins, Lally would advance to the semis Wednesday against the winner of Cuba (Andy Cruz) and Brazil (Rocha Dos Santos).

In Track and Field: 23-year-old Alyx Treasure competes in the women’s high jump on Wednesday.

Pitcher/first baseman Amanda Asay is part of the Canadian women’ss baseball team that plays its opener tonight (Monday) against Cuba.

–The Canadian men’s baseball team won gold at the Pan Am Games following a thrilling 7-6 victory in 10 innings over the U.S. in the final.
