Armed Forces supporting Wildfire Service in PG Fire Centre heading home

Canadian Armed Forces members currently deployed in the Prince George Fire Centre will soon be heading home.

According to CAF Spokesperson, members deployed in the area will begin to redeploy to their home units today (Tuesday), with the last members leaving the area on Friday.

As they move home, CAF members and vehicles, including large green fleet trucks, may be seen on various Forest Service Roads and BC Highways.

The provincial government requested federal assistance in August.

CAF members were tasked to perform Type III firefighting support tasks in our province from August 28th to September 15th.
