WHL

Kelowna Rockets: 5  vs  Prince George Cougars: 4

Special teams sunk the cats last night.

They allowed three goals in their first four penalty kills, and allowed a shorthanded goal that would eventually stand as the game winner.

Zac Funk had two third period goals for the Cougars in a comeback effort, Koehn Ziemmer had a goal and an assist, and Carlin Dezainde scored the Cougars’ 7th shorthanded goal in 10 games.

The Cougars play next a week from today when they host the last place Kamloops Blazers.

NHL

There are 14 games in the NHL today, including a Canucks vs Oilers rematch. But the Caps got shut out in their home opener by the Penguins last night, so none of it matters 🙁

BCHL

West Kelowna Warriors: 3  vs  Prince George Spruce Kings: 2 (OT)

The rocky start to the Spruce Kings’ season continues, now holding a 1-3-2-0 record through six games.

They made an impressive push for the extra point however, scoring twice in a minute in the final five minutes of the game to force overtime.

BC Football Conference

The Prince George Kodiaks close out their season on the road tonight against the Kamloops Broncos.

CFL

BC Lions: 33  vs  Hamilton Tiger-Cats: 30

The Lions have returned to their winning ways after falling to Winnipeg last week. Their final game of the season is next week against Calgary, they will then have one week off before the playoffs start.

It is likely they will finish second in the west behind Winnipeg for the second straight year.

NFL

Week 6 of the season is here, as always most of the games will be played tomorrow.

The Seahawks take on the Bengals at 10:00am, and the Ravens and Titans clash overseas in London.
