Police identify suspect in June indecent act investigation

The Prince George RCMP have identified a man wanted in an indecent act investigation.

According to police, the Prince George RCMP were told on June 1st, 2023, a woman was being followed by a man in L.C. Gunn Park.

Mounties say the indecent act occurred a short time later, and the woman called police and returned to the parking lot.

“Thanks to the number of tips received from the public, the man was identified as 50-year-old Joseph Neil Johnny,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

“Police officers have been searching for Mr. Johnny since an identification was made in the summer.”

Cooper added he is known to travel extensively through the North, but he has been difficult to locate.

“We are reaching out to the public once again for assistance in locating this man,” Cooper said.

Police say there is currently an unendorsed warrant for issued for Joseph Neil Johnny, for one count of Indecent Act in a public place.

Joseph Neil Johnny is considered dangerous, and should not be approached.

Anyone with information on Joseph Neil Johnny or his whereabouts is asked to contact the Prince George RCMP.
