WHL:

Prince George Cougars  9  Victoria Royals  6

It was a seesaw battle between the BC Division’s leaders at the CN Centre.

The Cougars took a 4-1 lead heading into the second period, but that was erased by four unanswered goals from the Royals.

The Cougars went back on the offensive, scoring five in the final frame.

Zac Funk led the way with a hat-trick, and Terik Parascak broke the Cougars record for rookie goals with his 31st of the season.

Hunter Laing and Borya Valis each scored a pair while Ephram McNutt added a single.

The Cougars (35-15-0-2) are second in the WHL’s Western Conference, one point behind the Portland Winterhawks. (35-12-2-1)

The Cougars are also one point behind the Everett Silvertips (35-17-1-2), but the Cougars have a higher points percentage.
