The Coquitlam Express edged the Prince George Spruce Kings 2-1 to earn a split of the doubleheader at the PG Coliseum. Liam McCloskey made 36 saves in the loss as Coquitlam outshot the hosts 38-34 before 937 fans. The 4-11-0-1 Spruce Kings are eight points behind Coquitlam for the 4th and final playoff spot in the BCHL Mainland Division.
–It was a win-win for the Cariboo Cougars Saturday night. The Major Midget Cougars skunked the South Island Royals 4-0 on a night the team raised more than $2,000 for the fight against breast cancer.
–The Northern Capitals blanked the Greater Vancouver Comets 3-0 Saturday in the BC Female Midget AAA Hockey League. The Comets took the Friday game between the two teams 2-1.
