Flu Shot increase in BC

Stats Canada’s flu vaccine numbers are out.

Looking at people over the age of 12, Linda Gionet says BC saw a small jump in the amount of people who got a flu shot. “Up to 32% according to the latest data”

She says the numbers within Northern Health are slightly lower than the provincial figures; 27% for 2013-14.

The vaccination rate for the City of Prince George was 28%.

Across the country, almost one third of Canadians over the age of 12 got vaccinated in 2013-14.

64% of the senior population were given a flu shot during the same period.

Nova Scotia had the highest rate among the provinces at 44% while Quebec had the lowest at 24%.
