One deceased following disturbance at home near Fraser Lake

One person is deceased following a disturbance at a rural property northeast of Fraser Lake.

The Fraser Lake RCMP were called to the home on Thursday, and located an adult man suffering from severe life-threatening injuries when they arrived.

BC EHS was called to the home and despite all lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Mounties say evidence obtained at the scene led to the arrest of a male youth at a nearby residence.

According to police, the BC Prosecution Service has approved manslaughter charges, and the 17-year-old youth remains in custody pending his next court appearance.

RCMP say the people involved are known to each other, and police do not believe there to be any risk to the public.

The North District Major Crime Unit was called and has conduct of the investigation.

No further information will be released at this time, but more details may be released as they become available.
