Downtown PG’s Bike Valet program expanding for 2026

Downtown Prince George is bringing back and expanding the free Event Bike Valet program for this summer.

The program was launched last year, and this year’s expanded program will offer even more opportunities for residents and visitors to park their bicycles while attending events downtown.

“This program is about continuing to build a more bike-friendly and accessibly community,” said Downtown Prince George Executive Director Chrisie Berry.

“The response to last year’s pilot program was incredibly positive, and we’re excited to expand the service in 2026 to support more events and more cyclists both downtown and beyond.”

Berry added while the program is designed for bicycles, they’re also able to hold strollers, wagons, scooters, and just about anything with wheels someone may not want to push around during an event.

The Bike Valet program will be available at the following events this summer:

  • Go by Bike Week – June 5-6
  • Canada Day – July 1
  • Downtown Summerfest – July 11
  • FIFA Watch Party – July 19
  • PG Public Library’s Touch a Truck – August 21
  • PG Farmer’s Market Corn Festival – September 5
  • Truth and Reconciliation – September 30

Funding for the Bike Valet program comes from the BC Cycling Coalition, in partnership with the Ministry of Transportation and Transit.
