It was a warm and dry June in Prince George according to Environment Canada.
Meteorologist, Kyle Ziolkowski spoke with MyPGNow.com.
“It’s really not out of the norm as far as temperatures go. The mean temperature at the Prince George Airport was 14 degrees and the total precipitation was about 50 millimetres for the month.”
As for July, he added an unsettled pattern will develop over the next week as a low-pressure system comes through.
A return to above-normal temperature is expected to occur later in the month.
“As we expect that upper-ridge to settle over the top of BC towards the middle to the end of the month, which also brings up the fire and weather concerns. Right now, wildfire weather is kind of subdued for the time being and that could return towards the end of the month.”
For the weekend, tomorrow’s (Saturday) forecast calls for rain and or possible thundershowers and a high of 15 degrees. Sunday makes way for the sunshine and a daytime high of 20.
