Northern Health moving some health services to Parkwood Place

Public health and family services are moving to Parkwood Place later this summer.

That’s according to Northern Health, who says it’s part of the expansion at UHNBC and will make room to build the new acute care tower.

The health authority stated that services now offered at the Northern Interior Health Unit and the John G. McKenzie Family Practice Centre will move to the mall site after the Early Works phase of the project is complete.

Both services will then convert to a new name called the Prince George Community Health Centre.

Northern Health says anyone receiving care that may be impacted will be contacted.

A 471-space parking facility opened last November as part of the first phase of the hospital project.

It is located adjacent to the BC Cancer Centre for the North.
