Cougars stockpile draft capital by dealing Aiden Foster to Brandon

The retool has officially begun for the Prince George Cougars.

Today (Friday), General Manager and Head Coach Mark Lamb acquired a third-round pick in 2028, a conditional first-round pick in 2029, a sixth-round pick in 2029, and a fourth-round pick in 2030 in the WHL Prospects Draft from the Brandon Wheat Kings in exchange for forward Aiden Foster.

Foster is currently suspended for two games following his checking from behind major against Swift Current on Sunday in a 3-2 loss.

“It is always tough trading a player like Foster,” said Lamb.

“He grew up here and was a big part of our success. There comes a time when you look at your team and changes need to be made for different reasons.”

Foster spent his entire WHL career with the Cougars, appearing in 203 regular-season games and recording 67 points (33G-34A).

A fourth-round selection of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2025 NHL Draft, Foster also appeared in 32 WHL playoff games and was a member of Cats 2023-24 BC Division Championship team.

The Cougars are back in action tomorrow (Saturday) in Kelowna against the Rockets.
