Environment Canada calling for chilly Halloween weekend

It may not send shivers down your spine, but Prince George is forecast to see cold temperatures over the Halloween weekend.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Steve Boily said the area can expect fair weather with sunny conditions, but will be rather cold for this time of year, as highs are expected to sit between one to three degrees today (Friday) through Sunday.

Boily said overnights is when the temperatures will drop quickly.

“The nights are clear, so temperatures drop very quickly. Minimum temperature for example overnight into Saturday will be minus 10. That’s pretty cold for this time of year.”

Boily noted while wind isn’t expected, it wont take much to feel the breeze and cold.

Overnight lows for Halloween night is forecast to reach as low as minus nine with clear skies.

Boily added Sunday won’t be much different with a cold morning expected, reaching just above the freezing mark in the afternoon, along with sunny skies.

More information about the forecast can be found on Environment Canada’s website here.
