UNBC Timberwolves Legacy Night raises over $128,000 for student athletes

$128,927 was raised for University of Northern British Columbia student-athletes during its 12th Annual Timberwolves Legacy Night.

UNBC said the funds raised through donors will benefit the student-athletes in the form of bursaries and scholarships.

“Legacy Night reflects the strength of the relationships that make UNBC and the Timberwolves community so special.” said Interim President Dr. Bill Owen. “The generosity of donors and supporters helps student-athletes make the most of their University experience, both in competition and in the classroom. These students will carry the lessons, connections and leadership skills they develop at UNBC into their future careers and communities across the North and beyond.”

During the October 21st event at the Prince George Civic Centre, Keynote speaker and Canadian women’s soccer legend Karina LeBlanc took the stage, sharing stories of her purpose and her why.

UNBC alumna and 2026 Wall of Honour inductee Paige Payne also shared her journey to becoming the program’s all-time leading scorer.

The University said it’s looking to build on this year’s success for next year’s event.
